Running + Cardio
A regular cardio workout is an essential component to any successful exercise program; It improves the capacity of your heart and lungs and helps to burn fat. By increasing your metabolism, it is also a key factor toward developing a leaner body.
My cardio program is suitable for everyone, regardless of his or her fitness level. Each person can choose from a variety of different aerobic exercises, such as running, biking, elliptical, power walking or swimming.
The concept is always the same: let your body work in a variety of different zones of effort. You begin with an easy steady heart rate, and then progress to intervals and high intensity to promote the best results. Each training zone is associated with a different physiological stimulus or training effect, contributing to making you leaner and truly fit. To accomplish that, we need to incorporate some intense shorts workouts along with some long and slow ones.
My running philosophy works for runners of all levels and ages, whether they want to run a 5k or a marathon. All of my training programs are customized to fit the needs and abilities of each person. We will build stamina, endurance and muscle response, based on your heart rate and personal objectives. The process includes endurance training to make your lungs and heart stronger, and to increase your tempo and fast-twitch muscle fibers to make you run faster!
Another great benefit of cardio training is that the hormones released during exercise helps to regulate your mood and make you feel happy! For optimum results and to improve your cardiovascular fitness, you should do aerobic exercises for 45 minutes to an hour at least 3 days per week with no more than 2 days rest in between sessions.
The hormones released during cardio exercise play a big role in mood regulation and your capacity to learn. Cardio exercise releases several key hormones, including serotonin, the famed mood booster; dopamine, which affects learning; and norepinephrine, which influences attention, perception, motivation, and arousal. This exercise-induced chemical cocktail has a powerful impact. By elevating neurotransmitters in our brain, it helps us focus, feel better, release tension, and BE HAPPIER!!!
Some of the benefits of cardio-respiratory workouts include reduction in blood pressure, decreased total cholesterol and increased HDL-cholesterol (the good one), decreased body fat stores, improved heart function, and less symptoms of anxiety and depression.
